We are moving production to Drammen
In March 2021, we started test production at Tekteam in Drammen, after a long dialog and meetings beforehand. Initially, we wanted to keep parts of the production in Karmøy, but as time passed and the test production was successful, a decision was made by the Board to close down our own production and focus fully on production at Tekteam in Drammen.
The board visited Tekteam AS for a tour of the production facilities that will now become Rico Produksjon.
The investment in Drammen is part of Rico's strategy towards growth and where the environmental factor plays an important role in the decision. As much of our production in Karmøy was transported eastwards, we will now save a lot of transportation emissions with short-distance fittings. The production in Drammen is also a short distance from Axcess, which is where we want much of the assembly to take place, so that the cars can be sent out to customers and dealers fully equipped.
Tekteam has all the certificates in order, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, which is a requirement for us to succeed in our venture. The company and its employees and managers also have a strong focus on the environment, which is something we like.
