Falck Chooses Rico System

to equip 100 new electric service vehicles

Working Together on the Service Vehicles of the Future
We are proud to announce that Rico System has signed an agreement with Falck to build 100 new VolkswagenTransporter and Volkswagen ID. Buzz service vehicles.

We have been entrusted with fitting the vehicles with our lightweight van racking solutions, creating strong and efficient mobile workplaces – while maintaining focus on CO₂, working environment, lower weight and long service life.

In addition, we have succeeded in reusing Falck’s existing fire extinguisher racks from the decommissioned vehicles and adapting them into the new Rico System solutions, allowing them to be reused and carried forward into the new electric vehicles.

Reuse

Existing fire extinguisher racks
are reused and carried forward

As part of the project, Falck had a clear ambition to standardise their fleet while also downsizing by one vehicle class – without compromising functionality or working environment.

This has been achieved through close collaboration and a thoughtfully designed interior solution, where technicians can pull the equipment out towards themselves instead of having to climb into the vehicle.

During the process, Falck conducted user testing of both vehicles and interior solutions in specially designed test vehicles. This ensured that the final solutions are optimised for the technicians’ daily work and practical needs.

It has been an exciting project, where Rico System has been involved all the way through. Test phases, close collaboration, as well as a very open and constructive dialogue with Falck’s technicians and management, have been crucial in finding the right solution.
